POETS DAY (Piss Off Early Tomorrows Saturday)

Yes it's Friday, and Friday the 11th of August 2006 for that fact.

And today I finish up my contract with DAIS. What am I to do next? God knows as I haven't a bloody clue.

First thing though is to sleep in Monday morning.

I've got my guitars to practice now and maybe learn the basics of the Keyboard.

Oh the Blues, and in both sense, musically and life. But the latter should only be short term whilst we go through the lunar cycle with it's current phase of Full Moon.

Which leads to question whether a particular night this week is better for a GILF?

Don't know what a GILF is? Have you seen American Pie?

The usual terminology is MILF - Mother I'd Like to Fuck. Go up another generation and you have "G" as for Grab a Granny, about the realm I would fit into albeit there is still enough loose women out there supposedly with tons of kids under 12 at home still.

And Tony I work with has just told the story of all these females deserting their hubbies who have been struck down with cancer and can't cope so they go out and have a "good" time. So much for "in sickness and in health" eh?

So back to MILF's/GILF's....getting involved again involves a whole second set of "families", baggage, all sorts of shit really. But we do it, all for "love".

And now I ask when is the best night to "Grab A Granny" out their in little ol'Adelaide? Maybe the Arkaba would be a start. Anyone know of other places to indulge my alter ego "Leisure Suit Larry" (Looking for love in all the wrong places) .

So let's get outta here and leave work behind me now and home to .....

What makes us who we are....or are who we make out to be

Had a thought on the way in to work this morning - what makes us live the life we do? Let me explain.

Here I am fast running into dire having enjoyed a few years of IT glory, been married, had a defacto, some girlfriends along the way, reaching middle age, not travelled much - not that I've been inclined to or have holidays away (hate the tropics), reasonably fair health apart from ongoing overweight and depression (which requires lifetime of medication until my last breathe), etc etc

Forget the negative slant on that previous paragraph, I only write it to give contrast to what I'm trying to say.

Basically 48 year old male, divorced with 2 grown men for sons, born in UK and lived in Adelaide since 1969, enjoy the white collar employment these days than the labouring aspect, enjoy listenin & watching music, sensitive and somewhat spiritual soul, blah blah blah.

Whereas someone else say an old friend Carl, grown to be somewhat living day to day, was married many years ago, has had a daughter since then who is probably around late teens by now, god knows where he is, worked the holes of Cooper Pedy, last know to be in Moonta, drank and may still do to the max, tried and may still do dope, and probably happy and content in his life enjoying each day. Well maybe / maybe not.

Is there somewhere in the Matrix that they can re-program your life and memories to be some alter ego with different skills in life, career, friends, finance, holidays to remember, a love shared with another that is to be in awe of, etc so that you could do a complete and drastic life change rudimentary in just overnight. You wake up the next day a completely different person in bed lying next to you is the one person you KNOW is the true love of your life, no rush to go off to work, look forward to an evening surrounded by many friends to share musical whims jamming away and indulge in the refinements of nice foods and wine without a care in the world.

Or perhaps a Buddist Monk or a Roadie or a lamp post?

Is there such reality as a Seachange?

I think we just have to fantasise it all out and hopefully as the days pass by to lessen our minds' wanderings to let us come back to earth and get on with day to day living.

The IT Crowd

The IT Crowd (yes there's going to be a second season)

Mal just rang and that reminded me to muse on the prospects of employment, or lack of it in the IT industry.

Having had a number of years in the IT industry, I'm past the use-by date with all my skills and now look crimly to the very very near future of unemployment as I finish this current contract on Friday.

The Mainframe field is taking it's dying breathes right now as I write here. In fact it's been on the ol' oxygen and life support for a few years now.

The new fields are servers and web-services that route through programs written in Visual Basic or Java or some other infinitely-numerous codes. Along with numerous database technologies, networks, servers, protocols, you name it they haven't invented it (just yet)..

So where does this authors future lie? Basically "Up Shit Creek Without A Paddle" somewhere in South Australia.

Let's face it the whole state and indeed the country is fucked.

Employment - none,

Welfare - fucked,

Environment - fucked (to the point of no-return),

Economy - fucked (by whoever/wherever eg. China, USA, UK, India, Japan,...fill in the blanks here....), now where did the state bank money go I wonder? Oh shit it was only $3bn...chicken shit in the scheme of things, and there we are all worrying about the cost of fucking plastic bags ruining the state of the nation. Get a life - when they start being responsible for their indiscrimanent wrecklessness we might start doing the right thing as well. Show by example arseholes.

Politically - fucked (reminds me of V for Vendetta), even Labor are Right Wing. Socialism is not used correctly in context Johnny, more like Dictatorship or Communism.

Socially - fucked (who gives a rats arse about anyone else! just give me what I demand is my rights...go bogans),

Health - fucked (who would like to take a Coles Deli number just to get a lottery ticket to see a doctor? Even then you have to wait until they have graduated from the New Deli Call Centre of Education Come Medical Enchalado - yeah the same one that Frank Zappa shoved up and down a donkey's arse until it can't cum anymore) and come over here to this beautiful land of opportunity.

Technology - fucked (the taiwanese make everything these days)

Primary Industry - fucked (who could live of the sheeps back these days?)

Industry - fucked (We won't be making cars much longer believe me....give it 18 months max)

Hospitality - not so fucked....we're all having a great time to get drunk so we are totally numb when the rug finally gets pulled out from under us and we are no and indeed a definite NO better than the Chenobyl community.

Police - fucked...thanks to the bastardisation of the legal systems by the politicians and the lawyers....forget the morals of society let's just make it totally legal to run some poor innocent shit of the Kapunda Road and still get home in time to down a couple more bottles of le Grange plonk.

Infrastructure - fucked. Yes you guessed it the pollies. Pat C has made an open and honest showing of fucking the milkcow with Mike at the head of the queue, say no more other than possibly to add the "friends" that have shown him the way. Oh by the way say hi to John O when you pass through LA on your next excursion boys and girls (either you blue or whites).

And no wonder the working class are now the poorest class on this planet bar a babe in Ethiopia, gawd even they have our money.

DD - Dating Dilemmas vs. LLL - Leisure Suit Larry

What about online dating? Do we really have the satisfaction that it purpetrates by finding the love of our life or the reason for more of us to suffer severe depression?

We click away and checkout the meat on display for only a short snapshot in time that we perhaps become totally disfigured and disenchanted by the whole scenario.

Boy sends "smile" to girl.

Girl sends "smile" back.

Boy send message trying to entice her further into his lair like animals in their ritual courtship to find a mate. Pretty primordial eh.

Girl sends back response. Yes she likes what you have to offer so far or NO she hates the sight of your mugshot and thinks you're a sleeze.

She either emails you or phones you.

And so the drawn out pulling of teeth begins.

Yes welcome to my nightmare.

Why do we do it, eh? We all need some social interaction and we all need someone to be that intimate companion bearing in mind the days of gender liaisons is not restricted to being of opposite sex.

Yet when it alls starts to come together we then start the process of building barriers or
limitations to each others intrusion of their space and time continuums in this universe. Much like a shock wave - we can't wait to see it happen yet when it does it ripples in waves of energy that has a confounded effect of us. Like the lunar cycle of the moon on each living being here on this planet.

And still we do it..... yes we still fucking do it!

So my friends to finally get the point is do we continue to scour the internet to find the love of our lives or just give up, get a life, move on, and do our own thing in isolation from another.
Then again there must be more and more like us both men and women who are getting disconsolate in the never ending search of endearment that is embedded into all of us via our genetic makeup or primordial instincts.

This then suggests that we are a growing number of zombied-out net-heads looking for love in all the wrong places for all the wrong reasons and for all the wrong purposes. Yeah Mal mate - at least you're having fun in the many young ladies bedrooms around this small town.

Young ladies eh? Yes that's getting to another point - fugly uglies!

A lot of them, ohmygawd....not enough paper bags in this world. No wonder women wanted viagra to be introduced. Honestly how could you possibly get it up to pound all that flesh?

Maybe it's just the lunar cycle getting to me and getting me down but eh, I know shit happens but fucking hell give a guy a decent break.

Office For MEN

Below is a recent email going through the SA state government offices.

You may like to refer to it later, but right now the point of this little musing is not so much small but increasingly pivotal to males.

Where in this so called world of equal opportunity in social, domestic and employment is the damn OFFICE FOR MEN?

Have you tried a Google on "Office for Women" as opposed to "Office For Men" ? Well it seems just about every government in western society is overrun by lesbian brown-nosers shafting their way through office politics to over-run the whimps. Yet the other google shows not much reference other than to provide "gifts for men" or other such links to sell products for men.....

So that sounds like a rash biased claim eh?

Think of the courses run just for women? You can't have courses run for men as this is sexual discrimination.

How many adverts take the piss out of men yet it would be sexist if we did the reciprical of the women. The recent add for tissues where a class of little kiddies goes and takes a bow of them to their female teacher with an obvious cold - well we should see the flip side of them taking a box to a male teacher. Why not? - Oh shit I forgot all male teachers are pedophiles, sorry my mistake for getting up this morning.

Or the guy that has a bust up with the wife and takes the kids. He's the baddy and should be hunted down like a criminal and a dog. Yet when she takes the kids she can get all the welfare and assistance to provide for her and he is still the bastard to pay for it.

You can't have men / males in the Girl Guides yet you MUST have females in the Scouts.

Yes I know all us men are pedophiles, guilty until proven innocent by way of multiple court appearances and theft of not only finances but their souls and livelihoods. How easy is it for a woman to make a claim yet if a man made such assertions he would be denied the same reponse and facilities otherwise given generously to women.

All the money and resources showered unto these females and their sisterhood just to keep the politicians from being sued or disgraced (blackmailed).

So where am I going with all this? Well I would like to see that for EVERY occurence of Women's facility whether courses, support, health, resources, education etc etc be established for males.

And why not? Tell me I'm not wrong.

The Office for Women has announced a new website which will help monitor changes in the status of women across South Australia.

Gender Indicators Online (GIO) will ensure policy makers across Government have access to information which reflects the position and situation of women and men in the community.

The website http://www.aisr.adelaide.edu.au/gio provides a diverse range of statistics that are easily accessible to Government departments to help in the development and implementation of gender sensitive policies and to inform Government decision making.

The data has been categorised under nine themes: crime and justice; education and training; employment; informal networks and community engagement; health; income; leadership and decision making; population and demographics; and recreation and leisure.

The website is a collaborative initiative between the Office for Women, the Department of Premier and Cabinet, the Australian Institute of Social Research (AISR) at the University of Adelaide and Associate Professor John Spoehr, Executive Director of AISR.

For any enquiries please contact Margaret Cameron on 8303 0518.

Ooops

Seems Rory's image got missed of the blog.

Music to my ears

Progressing well with learning the guitar, although I wished there were more hours in the day so I could practice more, and even learn the keyboard whilst I'm at it.

Lately it's been hectic with seemingly little things that etch away at the time like darts comp starting again, cleaning up space on pc's, listening/watching new music, checking emails, checking the dating sites, chatting to people especially when it comes to the new ladies...always want to give that extra bit...you know.

So how's it all going with the ladies you ask? Well surprisingly not bad really given I was getting along quite okay with my own company and guitar and music and pc's. Then there seems to be a stream of correspondence opening up from ladies around Adelaide, some not too far away to some that are a tad further afield but nonetheless just more interesting....well when you're 48 and a nice looking 40 year old starts to get interested in you, well I don't know about you but it sounds very appealing to me so long as I don't need any paper bags and all that. No she looks quite attractive really.

Adding to all that is Z is quietly maturing in the background so things are hopeful to move along with her, which is my desire at the top of my list to date.

I had a date with JJ on Saturday and met her at Indochina down at Mawson Lakes overlooking the "lake". Was a pretty good night weatherwise. I showed up out front to meet her, and waiting and waiting. Then after 20 minutes I looked at my phone to the message she was already sitting down inside.... not a good start, let alone me walking pass when I first got there and seeing this woman on her own thinking I hope, I hope this is not her....

Eh! Life's got to be fun and interesting and I haven't looked too much to the north of the CBD purely as I'm a southerner by nature. I think after Saturday and driving all the way out there I'll be staying South.
